Rivers & Roads Cowl

Bouclé is back in style in such a huge way! From the French "boucler," literally "to curl," this looped yarn construction is one of my favorites. I designed the Rivers & Roads Cowl specifically to show off the textural interest and uniqueness of bouclé yarns - it's SO soft, squishy, and the best texture to snuggle up with on your neck. You can, of course, knit this in a non-bouclé yarn - just check your gauge and off you go. This would be really nice in a sport or DK weight yarn held together with a fluffy lace-weight mohair or suri alpaca, or even just in a standard DK or light worsted weight yarn! Relaxing two-color syncopated brioche and a sharp I-cord edging will keep you wanting to knit this again and again.

CONSTRUCTION:

The Rivers & Roads Cowl is knit on the bias using simple brioche increases and decreases, and is seamed at the back after blocking. Please note that it may appear asymmetrical while knitting - this is normal, and will not be noticeable after seaming.

finished dimensions: 30 in/75 cm wide, 12 in/30 cm deep at side seam, 28 in/70 cm deep at apex

yarn snips or scissors, tapestry needle (for weaving in ends)
